In a recent video
released by the Obama Foundation,
ex-President Obama announced the first set of initiatives by the Obama
Foundation to inspire and empower young people across the world to change their
world. With this announcement, application is open for the inaugural Obama
Fellowship Program, which aims to support outstanding young people across the
world to inspire and elevate outstanding civic innovation in order to amplify
the impact of their remarkable work.
The Fellowship program
will draw together diverse set of twenty community-minded rising stars, for
example, organizers, inventors, artists, entrepreneurs, journalists, and many
more, who are radically changing the landscape of civic engagement in their
various communities. The two-year non-residential Fellowship will provide
hands-on training, resources, and leadership development. Throughout the
program, Fellows will be involved in four multi-day gatherings where they will
collaborate with each other, connect with potential partners and resources, and
collectively push their work forward. Also, each Fellow will pursue a
personalized plan to utilize Fellowship resources to push their initiatives to
the next level.
Application for the Obama Fellowship Program closes on October 6,
2017.
